ETERNAL

“ETERNAL” is a collaborative project between visual artist LESN101 and sample-based musician NAGO that presents the artistic process itself, rather than the final works, as the centerpiece. 

In “ETERNAL”, the audience is invited to experience flow alongside the artists as they transform what “was'' into what “is”. Coming from communities marred with scarcity and resulting scarcity mentalities, LESN101 x NAGO fully expose the simplicity of their creative methods, demonstrating the gold is in one’s self, rather than the materials they possess. Simply put: alchemy. Through timeless styles of creation, LESN101 x NAGO turn what was once ephemeral into what is now “ETERNAL”. 

Each performance starts with a simple assessment of materials. LESN101 scans his previous work while both listen to NAGO cut up his chosen sample. After some preliminary notions towards the upcoming pieces, both artists guide each other into the other’s work. The outside world falls away and there is only paint, drum breaks, and 70’s cinema scores to make sense of where you find yourself. Once time returns to us, we are left with full complimentary visual and audio compositions unconcerned with the seemingly impossible brevity of their construction.
